Day 7

We woke up. In our zombified state, we finished homework and studied. Mia even remembered to get changed. We went to class, where we met our 4th and last teacher. The teachers alternate days, we have a different teacher for every day, except Ebisu-sensei (our favorite) we get twice a week. Today we got class schedules telling us of this fact, which is nice. It also tells us when we have tests....
Class is divided into four 40 min. sections. It goes something like kanji quiz (and kanji) -> kanji (and reading) -> reading -> speaking. We get two 10 min. breaks, and one 20 min. break (kind of). The teachers seem to speak English (fairly well), but they speak in Japanese most of the time — which is great, but it really means intensive study. I’m not entirely sure of Ani’s homework, but here’s what Mia and I get:
10-15 kanji = memorize, memorize readings with other kanji, fill out squares (for kanji drawing practice)
booklet with kanji = various exercises involving reading/writing kanji (some of which we don’t know)
skit or other written assignment
We spend 2-4 hours completing the homework and memorizing the kanji/readings. Phew.
It rained today! While we were in class. We completed homework, wrote up the blog, then came to post it for you. Nothing exciting today :)
